Currently, Minecraft allows players to stay on older versions, which often leads to version mismatches when trying to play with friends. This creates confusion and disrupts the multiplayer experience, as some players hesitate or forget to update to the latest version (for example, staying on 1.26.10 while others are on 1.26.33).
Suggested Feature:
I propose introducing a Mandatory Update Notification system.
Before launching the game or entering multiplayer modes, the system should check for the latest version.
If a newer update is available, the game should require a mandatory update before allowing the player to use online/multiplayer features.
Alternatively, there should be a strict "Host Version Enforcement" option, where players cannot join a world or server unless their client version perfectly matches the host's latest version.
Why this is needed:
This feature will ensure all players are always on the same page, preventing fragmentation in the community, eliminating compatibility errors, and ensuring everyone enjoys the latest features and bug fixes together without manual convincing.
