It could add many things to Minecraft, such as:

A new biome – completely burnt and ash-filled, featuring lava pools and formations of blackstone, basalt, magma, and obsidian, as well as burnt vegetation and magma flowers.

New structures – a ruined Gothic cathedral containing a spawner that only activates at night; it summons a "Guardian" (with slightly more health than an Iron Golem) that spawns a horde of zombies, though destroying the spawner won't drop the item itself.

New mobs – such as an Ash Guardian and the raven (a passive, untamable bird that breeds using beetroot), plus a natural spawning area where skeleton horses are more likely to appear.

New blocks – a new black wood palette, ash blocks, ash carpet, and the Guardian spawner.

New items – the Ash Heart, which you can give to your pet; this allows it to move within a 30-block radius without following you (similar to the "Happy Ghast" mechanic of staying near player structures), though only one can be used per pet.
