Minecraft Bedrock + Java

Minecraft Bedrock Edition (MCBE) and Minecraft Java Edition (MCJE) should be merged together because both communities have exclusive features that the other side deeply wants. Bringing them together would create the ultimate version of the game and solve the biggest frustrations players face today.

For instance, Java players would benefit greatly from Bedrock's Marketplace. It provides a safe, curated environment where kids can easily find mods to change up their gameplay without the risk of downloading malware from shady websites. On the flip side, Bedrock players desperately want the freedom of Java’s massive modding scene and its version history. If Mojang made the Bedrock modding format compatible with Java, Bedrock players could finally experience iconic experiences like the Lucky TNT mod or the Flywheel of Terror. Furthermore, Bedrock players would love the ability to easily go backward in time to play older snapshots and historical versions just like Java can.

Ultimately, merging MCBE and MCJE would make people play Minecraft much more because they would finally have all the best features in one place instead of being forced to choose just one version. I know that rewriting the game engines to make this happen would be an incredibly difficult task for the developers. However, if Mojang started working on it now, it could be an amazing 2027 or 2028 Christmas gift to the community.
