Please, please, please, for the love of my villagers safety. Add a mechanic where I can put armor onto my villagers. I worked so hard to get some of these guys in a boat and bring them thousands of blocks to my island just for them to be blown up by a stray creeper. It would be nice if they were a little bit more damage resistant since they cannot protect themselves and rely on the player to do the protecting it would be nice if the player could be the protector by providing armor the same way that the player should add walls and lighting to keep mobs out. Even if you just added a new armor, trim, villager armor trim, and when you add it to the armor that armor could now only be placed onto a villager the same way that you would place it onto yourself by pressing the left trigger instead of it going on you you would press the left trigger with that item onto a villager. Not only would this protect the villagers, but it would provide for some cooler looking villager outfits, which could be differentiated between the villagers different jobs and the biome that the villager comes from mixing their original village and job outfit into a certain kind of armor meant for the villagers. This wouldn’t add any new gameplay feature to the villagers, other than boosting their durability through the players actions. I think by using armor trims as the way to do that would probably be the most Minecraft way to go about it if a specific villager armor trim was an added item.
