The Arcane Update
Minecraft has magic, but it has never fully explored it. This update connects existing mechanics—witches, brewing, moon phases, and the unused Illusioner—into one magical progression.
On New Moon nights, witches become peaceful. Talking to one starts a quest and unlocks the advancement "Can You Trust a Witch?".
The witch teaches the recipe for an Arcane Compass, which guides players to a rare floating Arcane Tower.
At the top awaits the Illusioner as a true boss with unique music and mechanics. Instead of relying on high damage, it fights through deception by creating illusions, casting magical darkness, freezing players, and hiding its true position with only glowing footsteps revealing where it is.
Defeating the Illusioner rewards the Arcane Heart. Returning it to the witch unlocks the Brewer's Book, which introduces Forbidden Potions unavailable through normal brewing, including the Potion of Nightmares.
Sleeping after drinking this potion transports the player to a Nightmare Chamber, where they can rematch stronger versions of bosses already defeated for unique magical rewards.
This update doesn't add random content—it expands Minecraft's existing magic into a complete adventure while staying true to survival gameplay.
