Nowadays, there is just one way to find ores: Digging until you find an 9re and mining it with a pickaxe. This is actually good, but how about adding more ways to find ores?
1. Crystals:
You can find crystals in caves. It has variants for all ores (Iron, gold, diamonds...) When mining it, you can get 2-4 ore per crystal, and it can be mined by a silk touch pickaxe. It also produce a light level of 9.
2.Mineral cracks:
In some stony peaks, you can find mineral cracks on stone, diorite, andesite, and granite. It usually leads to a big vein of any ore. The color of the cracks changes depending on the vein color. And if you are lucky, you can get some ores from those cracks.
3.Geodes:
Yes, we already have amethyst geodes, but what about a diamond geode? Or maybe a gold geode? You could find some crystals depending on the geode type, and also some calcite and smooth basalt just like the amethyst geodes.
