Hi!
Animals should be more likely to stay in areas where their living conditions are better, in real life for example, crows will actively stay around places where food is more likely to be found.
In Minecraft this would be perfect to have, if a user wants mobs to stay around without using fences or leashes they can simply build spots where food or shelter are in overflow causing animals to stay closer to those areas.
There would be a few scenarios that trigger if an animal stays and which animal would stay, the more these items are around, the safer the spot becomes, the more animals will stay around these places, for example:
Hay attracted Animals:
Animals attracted to hay are more likely to stay around places where a lot hay can be found, this can be farms but also places where hay bales or straw beds are placed, animals will eat from these spots and sleep around or on these spots (on the straw bed for example)
Seed/other food attracted Animals:
Animals attracted to seeds are more likely to stay at places where there are plenty of seeds, this can be grassy areas or farms, the user will also be able to put seeds in a cauldron (or other things such as fish for polar bears/cats, berries for foxes, meat for dogs/wolfs etc) and animals will eat from it.
Unsafe places:
Places that have higher risk of animals dying such as lava pools or higher mob spawn rate/deaths (or any other dangerous place/situation) will also influence if animals stay, the more danger the less animals will stay.
