Dog Beds and Free Roam

A dog bed that tamed wolves will sleep in at night, and can restore part of their health. When there is no item placed in the bed, dogs will follow you in the morning.

When a stick is placed, dogs will peacefully roam within a certain radius of the bed (similarly to dismounting a happy ghast). When a bone is placed in the bed, dogs will still roam but will attack hostile mobs within their free-range radius. 

Dogs might autonomously return to lie in their beds in free-roam mode, depending on their "personality." And beds can be assigned to specific dogs using dyes, name tags, or leads (whichever is most mechanically feasible).
