The new cushion items should be able to be placed by dispensers since they can't get moved by pistons. It would likely not work if there is a block in front of it, similar to that of lava buckets, and it would place at the lowest possible point of the tile in front of it. For example, if there was a slab in front, it would place on top of the slab, If there is a flower in front, it would place on the top of the grass below, etc.
