LAN JOINING and JOINING LISTED FRIENDS IS BROKEN after friends Update

I would always play LAN servers with my friends and when i first heard about the new Online friends and joining I was ecstatic. after updating my Minecraft not only can't i invite or join my listed friends worlds but can't join LAN servers either. I have tried everything under the sun to fix this but to no avail. Please fix your Game, it is literally unplayable.
