Make all Items/Blocks like the Cushion

I love the addition of the cushion, essentially adding furniture without adding the specific blocks itself. It's one block that can double as many different things.

One of the features I love the best is how it snaps down to fit on any sized block, and it can fit within blocks as well.
This would be great for other items as well, such as if you could place a Head/Skull directly on top of a trapdoor. Of course, the immediate issue is that cushions are technically not blocks, but entities, which is what allows them to exist in the same space as a block. Because of this, I don't think blocks and items should be this way by default, but there could be an item that makes them placeable. Perhaps like a little stand

    Also, cushions might be better if they were 2-3 pixels tall instead of 4
