My friend and I have a really old world on which we have been building and crafting ever since we started playing this game. This comes with new problems, though. Whenever a new update drops, we have to travel tens of thousands of blocks to find some of the new features, for example the sulfur caves. It is really frustrating that there isn’t a feature which “regenerates” chunks after time. Sure, we have a huge base which we do not want to be replaced by fresh blocks, but the thousands of chunks around it could absolutely be replaced.
I see why it might present problems and uncertainties when coding such feature, for example which chunks to regenerate, how often to and which ones never to regenerate. It is a must-have at some point surely, though. Imagine having to copy paste every so tiny bit of your base with world-edit onto a fresh world. That would take days!
Anyways, seeing how minecraft has made incredible progress in the past, I hope that you could at least consider such a feature to be added in the future.
Thank you for your time and patience.
