    Please do this as a personal favor to me. This is the one feature I have wanted ever since 1.7 got rid of metadata in blocks. That was a feature which was removed with no replacement, and I understand why it had to be done, and why it was difficult to replace it at the time. But now the game is in an excellent place to replace it with data driven blocks.

    This is something the game could absolutely use. Please give us the freedom to be creative without having to install modifications to the game which can break compatibility with a thousand other things. I have four Minecraft accounts! All of them were purchased by legitimate means!

    Also, data driven entities and items should be added to Java data packs.
