Dappled forest polishing suggestions

The new dappled forest is great, but could use a few things. I think pumpkins spawning around the forest in decently high quantities just like biomes such as the taiga, would fit the autumn feel perfectly. A more intensive but very nice feature would be a new mob or two, even just a single passive mob that serves no practical purpose other then adding life to a somewhat lacking in life biome would be amazing, it could be squirrels, beavers, moose, or deer would be amazing.
