I’d love to see a new redstone block called the Counter.
The Counter would keep track of how many redstone pulses it has received. Every time the block is powered, its internal count increases by 1, up to a maximum of 15. After reaching 15, the next pulse would wrap the count back to 0, making it useful for repeating circuits.
A comparator connected to the Counter would output a redstone signal matching the current count (0–15). This would make it much easier to create timers, sequencers, minigames, item sorters, combination locks, and other redstone contraptions without needing large, complicated pulse-counting circuits.

To make it easy to reset, one side of the Counter block could have a unique texture that acts as a reset input. Powering only that side would instantly reset the count back to 0 without affecting the rest of the circuit.
I think this block would simplify many existing redstone builds while also opening up new possibilities for creative contraptions, all while fitting naturally into Minecraft’s existing redstone mechanics.
