Since the inclusion of copper chain and it's oxidation state, I think it'd be great to implement powered chain as it'd expand redstone capability even more The powered chain would be:
1. Allow redstone power to be transmitted along with the chain direction, which means they can run in parallel, run vertically without short circuiting, and to change the direction use a solid block (preferrably using target block)
2. Depend on oxidation state, it would change the resistance of the chain For example, each oxidation state -1 signal, which means (normal: 0 resistance; exposed: -1 signal; weathered: -2 signal; oxidized: -3 signal)
3. The redstone would freeze the oxidation state just like waxing for more predictable circuit behavior
4. Since the chain can be pushed and pulled by piston, it can act as circuit breaker
5. You can use redstone dust and right click on the copper chain to change to powered chain, using axe to scrape off the redstone dust or use crafting table to craft powered chain I know that conductive chain idea already existed, but this would expand the possibility of use using the same mechanics of copper
Edit: This is optional but for iron chain, if you make powered chain from it, it'd be a superconductor, it will retain the input power level regardless of distance until you connect it to a solid block to change direction, connected to redstone dust,... allowing for rather expensive but seamless power transmision without making redstone repeater redundant
