Wood Pecker for the Dappled Forest

Minecraft hasn't explored much with fly passive creatures outside of bats and the parrot and more recently the happy ghast. The Dapple Forest being a more fall themed biome gives it a perfect opportunity to add Minecraft's next bird and I believe the wood pecker would be that addition. The wood pecker a fairly unique bird with them using their beaks to drill holes into trees giving a unique ambiance noise. A possible gameplay feature that they could bring is the bird could find or create a hollow log when it drills it's beak into a normal tree. This hollow log gives us a new wood block to decorate and can bring in a possible feature that was in the old birch forest concept art released many years ago since the new mushrooms were a part of that concept art too.

    As i said in a previous feedback, hollow logs can be obtained by placing termite blocks that eat the log or in other ways, but the idea of using a bird is also a very original idea. Also hollow logs could interact with animals, for examples chickens/foxes and other animals could hide in it to protect themselves from rain. The bird one is a really cool idea

    I love the idea for a woodpecker they should also add termites and special termite blocks where overtime they build their nest from the ground up and this is also nice for a new building block and new mob the woodpecker is also a great choice they should also add a new biome for the savanna a flat dried area for the savanna where termites would build their mounds

    We only have 2 birds in Minecraft the chicken and the parrot if we get wood peckers it would be a lot more fun to explore and collect different mobs

    This is really cool, you're right in our lack of passive flying mobs! and a woodpecker would fit the drop perfectly!
