Possible to undo locked villager

When you trade with a villager it locks thair trades in but if the villager becomes usless you either lock them away or kill tham which i dont really want to do. As a quality addition Mabie after paying some 20 emeralds the villager would be brought back to an unused state than you would be able to destroy the work place and change the villager tipe.
