Birch leaves should either be made biome dependent, or better yet, there should be an autumn variant added that only spawns very sparsely throughout the dappled forest, or in a rare sub-biome type that occurs in smaller patches, but with a higher concentration than would occur throughout. The leaves should be a slightly greenish yellow color, to reflect the autumn color of birch in the real world. This would improve the birch tree, and the new dappled forest (which is already stunningly beautiful) with a little bit more natural variety. If you really wanted to cook, the autumn variant of birch could drop birch bark, similar to the apple drop from oaks. The bark could could be used to craft something special, like a special type of paper (the most boring option), a lur, a birch bark canoe, or my favorite, a basket that could be both functional and decorative. A basket could work like a bundle, but also be placeable like a pot. In order to not nerf the bundle, it could require the bundle to be made in the crafting recipe, or only be able to hold certain types of things. Maybe it only holds edible contents, but more than a stack. Maybe it can’t hold building blocks, but it can hold multiple non-stackable items, excluding other baskets. Something that gives a small boost to the inventory in a new way. When placed, it could show some of the contents or at least indicate with a generic graphic whether it is empty or not.
