With newest game drop we get new type of mushroom: Shelf Mushroom. This is the first new overworld mushroom type added to Minecraft in a very long time (excluding the Nether fungi), and I would love to see the developers continue expanding mushrooms to increase variety. If devs don’t want add entirely new mushroom species for this drop because it would likely require a Mushroom Fields update. I would like to suggest simpler addition: Mushroom Clusters. Mushroom Clusters would be decorative ground-cover blocks that would behave similarly to Wildflowers or Lead Litter. They could have two variants based on the existing mushrooms already found in Minecraft: Red and Brown Mushrooms. I think that they would fit perfectly in: - Forests - New Dappled Forests - Taiga and other taiga biomes - Dark forests - Swamp - Mushroom Fields Small environmental details like Pink Petals, Wildflowers, Leaf Litter, Firefly Bushes, and now Shelf Mushrooms have made Minecraft’s biomes feel much more alive. Mushroom Clusters would be another small but impactful addition that enhances world generation and gives builders more natural decoration options.
