Hello Mojang Studios,
I would like to raise a concern about the risk of players losing their Minecraft worlds when uninstalling the game or switching devices.
Many players spend hundreds or even thousands of hours building their worlds. However, on several platforms, uninstalling Minecraft or moving to another device can result in worlds being lost if players are not aware of backup procedures.
This issue can affect players on:
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Android devices
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition on iPhone and iPad devices
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition on Windows devices (depending on storage and backup settings)
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition on consoles such as Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch when cloud saves are unavailable or not properly synchronized
- Minecraft Java Edition on PC if players reinstall their operating system, change computers, or do not back up their saves folder
I request that Mojang consider:
1. Providing easier and more accessible world backup and export options on all platforms.
2. Improving world transfer tools between devices.
3. Expanding cloud backup options where possible.
4. Making it easier for players to protect and transfer their worlds.
Minecraft worlds represent a significant investment of time, creativity, and personal memories. Better protection and backup systems would help prevent accidental world loss and improve the experience for players of all ages.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
A Minecraft Player
