The Cardinal would be a new bird mob that flies around in the Dappled Forest. Some poplar trees would have nests where you can find Cardinal Eggs. The eggs would take between 4-5 in-game days to hatch and can only be placed in their nest. You can pick up the nest as a new block. They can be tamed and bred with Blackberries, from blackberry bushes. They would also add ambience to the Dappled Forest, chirping in the background. When the baby cardinals hatch from their eggs, they'll stay in their nest naturally for at least 3 Minecraft days and will grow up and fly around, unless you bring them with you with a lead. You can also give them golden dandelions, so they never grow up. If you breed two cardinals, they'll fly up to the closest tree, a nest will be placed, and between 1-4 eggs will appear in the nest. Sometimes, a cardinal will mainly sit on their eggs to keep them warm. They can shed/drop new red feathers occasionally that can be used to craft a new arrow called the Red Feather Arrow. These arrows fly completely straight (no drop), but only last about 1.25 seconds, making them best for close range. They stack to 16 and partially ignore armor (around 10–20%). They also leave a small red trail, making them feel unique and precise. Overall, the cardinal would be a great addition to the Dappled Forest, adding ambience, variety, new food, and a new gameplay use through the Red Feather Arrow, making it both a fitting biome mob and a useful option in combat.
