New Forest Mob: The American Woodpecker

  • To enhance the auditory and visual experience of Minecraft's woodlands, the American Woodpecker should be added as a small, ambient bird mob. They would spawn in dense forests and highland biomes, frequently seen clinging vertically to the sides of tree trunks. Players will know they are nearby by a distinct tapping sound as they peck at wood blocks to search for bugs. This pecking action could slowly convert regular logs into a new "pecked log" block variation, or reveal hidden silverfish and termites. If a player uses a spyglass, they can observe them darting gracefully between trees.
