- To make the forest canopies feel more alive, Minecraft should introduce the Gray Squirrel. This small, fast, passive mob would spawn exclusively in dense forest biomes like oak, dark oak, and the proposed highlands. They spend most of their time climbing up and down tree trunks and leaping between leaf blocks. Players can see them gathering acorns or sweet berries and carrying them back to tree hollows. If a player approaches too quickly, the squirrel will emit a scolding chatter sound and scurry up the nearest tree to safety. They could be tamed or distracted using seeds or nuts.
