I have an idea for a new minecart – the Target Minecart.
It would be crafted with a normal minecart and a target block. Just put them together like other minecart recipes.
When you shoot it with an arrow, it gives a Redstone signal. The strength depends on where the arrow hits – if you hit the center, you get 15, just like the regular target block.
The cool part is that it works while moving on rails. So you can have a moving Redstone signal for the first time. To read the signal, you just place Redstone dust or a comparator next to the rail where the cart is passing.
If you shoot it with a normal bow, the cart stays alive and only gives the signal. But if you use a crossbow, it destroys the cart like any other minecart – this keeps it balanced.
It wouldn't get pushed or sped up by arrows, only the signal would appear.
I think this would be great for archery minigames, moving target ranges, adventure maps, and all kinds of Redstone builds that need a signal on the move.
Right now every Redstone signal is static, so this would really open up new possibilities.
