the new controls are very useful but the analog buttons are too big for me and make it difficult for me to walk

You Should Add A Size Option For The Joystick, It Takes Up Half Of My Screen. And Make It So You Can Move The Buttons And Joystick Around.

    • These are a few things that i like about the “crosshair” control.
    1. The new “sprint on movement feature is so helpful, I love it.
    2. The ability to turn on and off “toggle crouch” is very nice. I can imagine playing with friends now and doing the friendship wiggle that wasn’t really possible before.
    3. The ability to hold down the interact button and place blocks in a line is very helpful for building and bridging.
    4. Also when hold a crossbow, it’s so much easier to use because you don’t have to awkwardly hold down on the screen.

         A few things I don’t really like:

    1. The placement of all of the interact and attack buttons is not to my preference. I would love to be able to customize where on the screen to put those buttons and to rearrange them, but if not possible at least a little lower on the screen. (I am playing on an iPad Air)
    • What i like about the “touch” setting:
    1. It doesn’t feel all that different from the classic, so it shouldn’t be that hard to adjust.

         What i don’t like:

    1. i have always preferred playing with split controls on before so to me it feels a little clunky.
    • Overall feelings about the crosshair and touch settings

Overall i like the change, it feels a lot more versatile (especially on crosshair). However, there are a few things that i would love give some feed back on. Firstly, the position of all the buttons on the right feels clunky to me. And secondly, when holding the up or down button when flying you can’t move your camera angle which us annoying.

After trying my shot with the new controls I have the following thoughts and comments and I hope they can be of use.

I will start by saying that as a player that has played for so long, I have become accustomed to having my sneak and jump swapped. Because of this the transition to the joystick with a completely separated jump button was a challenge but not impossible. I 100% prefer having my jump button on the left with the rest of my controls for easy movement because it only requires one of my fingers while in the new interface it requires both. For example, I love to be able to be crouching, moving, and even jumping up a block or multiple, all while having my bow loaded. I cannot do this with the joystick and I believe that is a huge problem with it.

What I do like about the crosshair is the two buttons for placing and breaking, I’m not sure why but it just feels nice and more pleasant to use.

As for the touch I once again do not like that I am unable to jump while having a loaded bow but other than that there is not much to say.

In both instances I detest the sprint button being way off to the side (I am aware that it can be automatic, and that is better but not perfect)

As for the joystick itself, i like the feel and movement of it although it is way too big on my phone’s screen and I am having to reach with my thumb to move.

As a final thought I would say that the current setup "classic" is definitely better and I would not want to use something lesser.

When thinking about how intuitive each control setup provides, I would say that they almost all have challenges.

While the touch and crosshair have individual buttons for each action, they are not that intuitive and it is difficult to differentiate between some buttons that need to be held, tapped, double tapped or other.

Meanwhile, classic only has sprint which is hard to find but that is discoverable with time as the player progresses in their world which I’d say is a good thing because it doesn’t confuse a new player with an extra button and it is not needed early hame but can be handy once discovered later by trial and error or accidentally in classic.

I have mixed feelings about the new controls but I think that providing the player with options is the best solution. Let the player customize their experience and please never take away the current classic controls because they are simply superior at the moment. Thanks : )

Most of mobile games let you adjust the exact button position and opacity, I would love to have that on Minecraft.
Idk if you already did this on the beta 'cause I play on official versions only. But please add an option to "hold" the crouching button instead of the double tap

You could give some love to the in-game chat, it covers more than a quarter of the screen.
There's some texture packs that add some buttons to "re-write" previous messages and buttons to navigate between the commands option. Like when you write /give @s stone... The buttons on these texture packs let you chose between the multiple options for that command (smoth_stone, stone_bricks, etc) so you don't have to write the whole thing
I'm really excited about the touch controls update, this is a big change for the Minecraft mobile community, thank u guys<3

It’ ok but having the buttons high is too much for my fingers. And also could you add a f1 and f5 button like the pc players?

Being able to customize the position of those controls would be great, i would like to put the Jump and Sneak button lower in the screen

the touch controls are so far nice in my opinion, although yes there are some room for improvement, first and i think very needed and asked is for a way to change the size of the joystick and i would personally like add a drop button, like to drop items that you are currently holding more quickly rather than holding the hotbar slot, but i think this is a great addition to the game, great job mojang!

although, i didn't try it bc i don't have minecraft on mobile, i think that it seems to be pretty good change but now it looks like just another first person 3D mobile game... i think that they should merge those buttons into more characteristic... ehmmm... thing... i don't want to make it harder to use but when you are on a phone, you don't feel the buttons, you are much more likely to mistouch a button you didn't want to

I love this new UI very much. In particular, new players will have a lot of advantages.
The biggest disadvantage of players on mobile is multi-tapping. Players can't sprint, jump and hit at same time because of touch control's position.
It will be better if mojang make tuch control resizeable and re-position-able so that players can set their control anywhere in the screen and play with three or four fingers.

Give controller adjustment feature where u can adjust size place of the buttons and make offhand slot button also which will help us the phone player to use offhand feature

On the Touch Interaction Model there should be a button to quickly use things like Crossbows and Spash Potions! Needing to tap and hold in the screen is inconvenient... the Crosshair Model has something similar thanks to the Interaction Button, just tap and the Crossbow will shoot or the Potion be thrown

The action Buttons on the right are way to high, and I don't like the JoyStick.

But the new Buttons may work.

I hope there's some possibility to add F1 and F5 buttons. It's not comfortable to open the games configurations to change between "cameras", then you need to open all again to be back on fist person
Also a pick block button would be useful too
Maybe these amount of stuff could fill all the screen, but that's why the opacity and position adjustment is so important. Also it could be nice to be able to toggle on/off these buttons individually to let everyone chose the perfect set for all of the players

There should be a separate joystick size option
All buttons should be customisable which means all buttons can have different size and location
The attack and place buttons should have their own joystick so you can just hold one of them and move the stick to move the camera and do the action. This will make 2 finger plays eaiser.
Now that there is a separate place button the sheild should not be blinded with the crouch or have an option to bind it to the button
Also add a button which swaps items with the off hand like f in java and because the left and right click buttons are separate this should allow offhand in mcpe
Also when using this new buttons the sensitivity gets all messed up and it is super slow and sluggish

I suggest you please, the jump and sneak buttons are placed on the right, not in the middle. because it blocks the cellphone screen while playing. That's all my advice, I hope you can do better :)

I love the new gui few points the ability to position the action keys currently to high, would also like the ability to use a mixture of the classic and new cross hair function replacing the circle with a cross hair.

The joystick looks weirdly pixelated and blurry which I am not fond of, the joystick should definitely change.

I love the new controls, but there should be an option to customize the layout.

    My opinions to improve it:

    1. Holding the jump(not letting go) makes the player keep jumping.
    2. Keep the "Jump" button where it previously was, move the "Sneak" button under the jump button.
    3. Tweak the sprint button.
    4. Move the "Right Click" button beside the jump button(left, slightly above), move the "Left Click" above the right click button.
    5. Add "Change Perspective" and "Hide hud" button to the top right corner.

There are more things i want to suggest but that's all for now. :3

The combat side is difficult, you need to reposition crosshair then tap, then reposition cross hair ect this results it it being very difficult to kill mobs even passive if you need more then one strike such as using fist early game, previously you could touch any area on screen then strike at that point allowing for better control and speed and tracking same goes for building whole process is slower now and more difficult to the point where it is frustrating and often results in the moss placement of blocks

Would be cool if we could make our own configuration a out where each button goes in the screen. I think we do not need a button to attack unless it is in the off hand. I like the joystick to move. The crouch button i still think the the double tap to lock on crouch. I still prefer the classic layout but i recognize a big potential on the new layout. Would be cool if u guys add buttons on the inventory to help us to manage the inventory, i mean, moving stack by stack is very time consuming i would love to see a button that able u to move multiple stacks of the same item to the player inventory or to the chest, and another to sort the inventory/chest to be more organized like java and windows 10 does. I think those two last things are so game changing.

Make it customized, the attack button only for the off hand, inventory button to move multiple stacks of the selected item, another inventory button to sort the inventory like in the keyboard.
