I can't play with my friends on playstation (console)

I enjoy Minecraft, but I am disappointed that PlayStation players need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play online with friends on PC or just online in general. I would like Mojang to work with Sony to make cross-play more accessible and not a paid feature.
