This would be an awesome addition to redstone. There currently isnt really a temperature based mechanic in redstone, so this would be cool. A Thermal Detector would be crafted from one block of redstone, 3 smooth stone, 2 netherrack, and 3 iron ingots. When placed it could be opened to show a temperature meter from -50 to 50 and the current temperature. You could set a temperature on it, and when it reached that temperature it would send a redstone signal. If the temperature went above 50 it would overheat and explode, similar to a respawn anchor and if it went below -50 it would freeze over and become nonfunctional. The way it senses heat is it “sees” every block in a 2 block radius, taking the temperature of all of them and the total would be the temperature of the thermal detector. Magma blocks would be worth 10, torches and lanterns and campfires 30, lava 40, snow -20, ice -30, blue ice -40. This block could be used in so many ways to make awesome builds where there is like a lava pool being blocked by a piston and when you let the lava loose it could move through tunnels to activate lights and stuff around your base, or a minigame where you have to stop lava flowing down before the detectors overheat and blow you up. This idea would have so many possibilities, and i really hope it gets added. Thanks for reading!
