Update Compatability

I love the new updates, and minecraft updates very frequently, but minecraft is a game of dedication where a world should last years, so i suggest a new feature where updates can be applied to old worlds, how will this happen?

if you go to a worlds settings there should be a button that says "update to new version" and this will completely change your world to add any new biomes or features that would otherwise not be in your world. maybe if theres a chunk in a biome that has a large player built structure that meets a certain list of requirements (x blocks big, x materials used) it will skip editing that biome or maybe even if possible it will edit the way the biomes around it mix into it to keep the generation clean. this will come with problems obviously and may mess up some worlds but thats why its a button that is clicked at the players discretion.
