I would love to see fennec foxes added to Minecraft as a new desert mob. Right now deserts feel quite empty compared to other biomes, and a small, cute animal like the fennec fox would make them much more alive and interesting.
Fennec foxes could spawn in desert biomes, mostly at night or around desert villages. They could behave similarly to regular foxes, but adapted to the hot climate.
Their behaviour could include:
-
Running away from players unless the player is sneaking or holding food(like rabbit or chicken).
-
Forming small groups so the desert doesn’t feel empty.
Players could gain their trust by feeding them. After being trusted, a fennec fox could follow the player or bring small items it finds in the sand. This would give players a reason to explore deserts and interact with the new mob instead of just crossing the biome as fast as possible.
Visually, fennec foxes would fit perfectly into Minecraft’s style: big ears, light sandy fur, and a slightly smaller body than normal foxes. They would add more variety to existing fox mobs and make deserts feel unique, not just another place with husks.
