So, the current “dungeon” isnt great, so this is my take on how they should be upgraded. First, there are now 5 different types of dungeons. First the cell, a classic MC dungeon, but larger, and sometimes has a second room behind iron bars. Second, the vault, similar to the desert temple, or jungle temple in that it is a treasure location, guarded by a puzzle, trap, or mini boss. As a note, most puzzle dungeons have a special block that give you mining fatigue to stop you from cheesing the puzzle, and when broken the fatuige stops. Third, the keep, a much bigger dungeon, and normally very combat based. A trail chamber is now classified as a keep. This one shares some mini bosses with the vault. Fourth, the labyrinth, a big, winding dungeon, with many passageways, and most of the time, a pretty hard boss at the end. A stronghold is now classified as a labyrinth. Finally, the necropolis, the biggest, and hardest tier of dungeon, with super good loot, but a super hard boss or guardian who patrols the dungeon. A ancient city is now classified as a necropolis. All dungeons would have multiple variants, but all of them will have a generic stone brick variant, with a mideaval ish design, that is the most common. Finally, as a indicator for dungeons, with no small influence from the lush cave here meme, megaliths spawn above dungeons, as 3 variants, henges, monoliths, and menhirs, with their size indicating the size of the dungeon.
