I would like to suggest a new optional world setting called “Empire Mode” for Minecraft. This would not change the normal game, but instead be something players can turn on when creating a new world.
Core Idea
Empire Mode would allow players to build and manage an empire made up of villages. Instead of only interacting with villages as neutral locations, players could take control of them, protect them, and develop them into part of their own kingdom.
Village Control
Players would be able to:
Ally with villages or take them over
Assign them as part of their empire
Manage their development and safety
Economy and Resources
Villages would generate resources over time such as food, emeralds, and materials. Players could set a tax level:
Low tax: villagers are happier but progress is slower
Higher tax: faster resource gain but increased risk of dissatisfaction
Guards System
A new villager-type mob called Guards would be introduced. These villagers can be recruited and assigned to protect:
Villages
The player
Key structures
Guards would defend against raids, mobs, and other threats, making villages feel more alive and protected.
Iron Golem Interaction
Villages under the player’s control could still build iron golems when threatened, working alongside guards for defense.
Loyalty System
Each village would have a loyalty meter influenced by:
Taxes
Protection from attacks
Player interaction
Low loyalty could lead to villagers refusing to cooperate or even rebelling.
