When redeeming a code — whether in the Minecraft Launcher or on the redeem page — there is currently no step that tells you which product the code will activate before it is consumed. The code is applied immediately, with no preview and no confirmation.
I'd suggest adding a clear confirmation step to the redemption flow (launcher and website), for example:
"This code will activate: Minecraft Bedrock Edition. You already own this edition on this account. Continue?"
Two benefits:
- Players can see exactly what they're about to add and stop if it's the wrong edition — especially helpful now that several editions share similar names.
- Duplicate warning: if the account already owns that edition, a heads-up would prevent accidentally consuming a code on something you already have. Right now the code is used up before you can react, when it could have been kept or gifted instead.
A simple "here's what you'll get, confirm or cancel" screen before the code is finalized — in both the launcher and the redeem page — would make redemption much safer.
