I wish that Minecraft’s ecosystem is a working system that doesn’t require the player’s input. The Minecraft Nature can manage itself without player disturbance. For example, wolves will mindlessly slaughter sheep and leave their remains on the ground to despawn. I feel like this mechanic is hollow and pointless. Mobs and animals should have a hunger system like the player where some needs to hunt and some needs to feed. Mobs will be able to pick up remains from the ground and eat to sustain themselves to be alive. Despawning should be removed and the only way mobs will ‘despawn’ is if they are killed by another entity or nature kills the mob itself (like drowning or starvation). Mob spawning should also be removed but mobs can automatically breed to reproduce their species. Maybe spawning and despawning should be toggable to the player’s likings. Minecraft should have a clear food web where animals hunt and feed to ‘spawn’ and ‘despawn’. This gives Minecraft so much liveliness and makes the game feel so much more natural. I believe that an environmental update would suit Minecraft because let’s be honest, nature is everywhere in Minecraft! Perhaps, new mobs could also be added to contribute to biodiversity. I know Minecraft is not suppose to have real life hostile mobs BUT Minecraft could add real life mobs like tigers and sharks THAT ONLY attack the player under certain conditions like hunger so they’re technically a NEUTRAL mob; polar bears are already in the game anyways.
