Based on recent community leaks and discussions about a new Straw Bed as a stackable and consumable exploration item, here is a suggestion to make it much more immersive and useful for adventurers:
Instead of the bed completely disappearing into thin air after use, it should become permanently locked to the ground. Players can sleep in it at that location, but they cannot collect the bed back into their inventory.
If the player chooses to break it with a tool or bare hands to clear the path, it should only drop 1 to 3 pieces of individual Wheat (since the structure gets ruined upon destruction).
Why this would be amazing:
- Permanent Trail Outposts: Explorers could leave these functional straw beds behind as permanent rest stops. This creates a visual, physical trail of safe havens across long journeys or deep forests.
- Fair Value for the Price: Since 3 hay bales (27 wheat) is an expensive recipe, allowing use at that specific spot justifies the high cost, while preventing players from abusing a single bed by moving it around.
- Strategic Choices: It gives the player a real survival choice: leave the bed there as a permanent checkpoint for future trips, or destroy it to recover a tiny bit of resource to bake bread on the road.
