Make there be three Poplar Saplings

I think there should be a different polar sapling for each color of polar tree so players have more building options and to control what color leaves you're getting.

    imagine if it grows differently if theirs something else near by like how bee hives appear on trees when flowers are near.
    so it could be like a way to make it not just be random

    Agreed the saplings could also serve as shrubbery for decoration

    each sapling would be the same, but with different leaf colors on the item texture, and maybe  an extremely extremely small mutation chance, but still achievable to give players a goal to try to get a different leaf than their sapling, but not common enough to be majorly annoying. This would also stop players from just going to collect 1 sapling and never going back. Overall this is a great idea, and I hope mojang implements it in the dappled forest update.

    alternatively it could work like paintings, if you break and replant it then it becomes the desired colors
