Give a new purpose for the shears!!!

I don't know if this is part of Mojang's plans, but could you please make shears part of the crafting recipe for the new wool slabs and stairs, or make them the only way to obtain wool slabs and stairs somehow?

Right now, off the top of my head, the only things shears are used for are obtaining specific items that can't be collected with Silk Touch, trimming things so they don't grow beyond the desired size, collecting wool, carving pumpkins, extract honeycombs, shearing Mooshroom and removes snow golem pumpkin head.

Adding this feature would give shears a new purpose. It may seem like a small change, but I think it could make shears a more usefull tool.

And another thing thats not related to wool is shears should be able to deactivate TNT, would be cool.
