I am a seasoned Minecraft player, and like most people I agree the inventory could use an update but there’s one thing specifically I find rather frustrating and that is tropical fish, everyone wants a fish tank or a river populated with fish but the trouble of gathering fish one by one in buckets that don’t stack can be quite aggravating so I propose we use something like a grunting stick, maybe it’s crafted with a stick and iron and similarly to the brush it works on a special kind of dirt maybe farmland maybe podzol or maybe even mud. The idea is simple I place the stick on the mud or dirt and interact with it and like a real grunting stick this causes worms to surface and a player can collect these worms in a bucket giving them bait which can be put into water to attract fish (using item causes fish to spawn in nearby waters regardless of biome) this would be a great way of keeping fish in an area or allowing them to spawn it would also be cool to be able to feed bait to axolotls, turtles, and nautilus. Additionally you could use bait on fishing rods, in composter, on farmland for faster growth or higher yields. In conclusion I can’t say this would solve any issues but I believe it would introduce fun and interesting mechanics.
