I think combat holds a VERY important role in minecrafts recent prosperity, as many new/old players have began playing minecraft Java solely/partially for pvp and its aspects, but by stripping away the key mechanics that attribute swapping brings, I won't be suprised if something as bad as a second split occurs, and I don't see many people at all that would like the new change. This fundamentally destroys the combat system in complicated and simple ways alike and ruins some mechanics that don't involve combat too. I think this change would ruin minecraft java because the effects would be far more detrimental than previous changes, and players will most likely either stick to old versions (which has never kept minecraft alive), or would quit minecraft altogether. The effects that this will bring are far more serious than the developer team considered it to be when publishing this snapshot. Whether that having attribute swapping in minecraft in the first place was intentional or not, it is far too implemented into the game's combat and other functions alike, and minecraft cannot afford to remove it and ruin player experience. Please keep attribute swapping in the game.
