Removing the P2P feature removes the desire to play

I have not touched Minecraft in over a year, mainly because it was so difficult/time consuming to play with my friend (the whole point of playing). I've jumped through so many hoops over the years to play with him, and I was over it. That was until I heard about the release of the friends list and P2P addition to Java snapshot. This was the update to finally get me back on the game and revitalize the *decade* of time I've spent, and I'm so upset to see the P2P feature was removed. The excitement from players for the inclusion floods Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, and every other forum I've found. I get it isn't "production ready," but this is what the players want (bugs and all), and I hope it will be back soon. Until then, I don't think my friend or I will be back on the game (what's the point?).
