Leaf piles are blocks(?) that would occasionally generate in Dappled Forest. It's model is similar to coral fans where instead of pointing outwards, it points inwards
- Leaf piles will break instantly when the player punches it and, when it breaks, there could be leaf particles to make it look like the leaves are scattering.
- when the player breaks a leaf pile, there could be a chance for an item to pop out (maybe the loot table could include items from the new abandoned campsite chests, kind of like items that were lost) or a chance for a hostile mob to jump out. The only hostile mobs that I can think of that don't burn in daylight are spiders (that are already aggressive towards you), witches, pillagers and silverfish.
- Leaf piles could also function similar to decorated pots where you can hide up to a stack of a single item inside them which of course drop once broken
- Finally, I think it would be cool if leaf piles absorb or at least negate some of the players fall damage where it would then break
