With the recent announcement of the dappled forest biome, I found myself imagining the ambience inside the biome, just as I have experienced every autumn in my hometown: the caws of crows, and rustling of leaves.
I feel that crows or ravens would fit the theme of this biome perfectly, and could be built with mechanics that feel natural and familiar to the players.
Cats bring players gifts, and piglins give random treasures (or junk) when thrown gold — I propose that crows could function similarly to either of these.
When given seeds, they have a chance of bringing back a copper nugget, or stick (among other things)… perhaps even a string.
So that the feature cannot be easily abused for cheap treasure, they could be programmed to approach the player only when standing still, and holding seeds (similar to ocelot behaviour… just an idea).
There are many possibilities for this mob, such as the potential for them to damage crops (though I suspect this would be too controversial), or they could simply be an aesthetic addition to the biome that completes the atmosphere without any complex mechanics or features therein.
I for one, would be thrilled to see any iteration of this mob added to the game, regardless of how it is implemented and or what it does.
