Parity means making features behave consistently across different Minecraft editions, most commonly between Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Use this category to discuss released features that exist in both versions of the game but work differently. Please note that bugs are not parity issues and should be reported separately.

The bedrock combat system is drastically different. Buffing sharpness on bedrock to match java means bedrock players deal more damage in the same amount of time. This is because there is an absence of the attack cooldown mechanic in bedrock.

A mob that takes 2 hits to die in java will last X amount of time.
The same mob in bedrock will take 3 hits, but die in x amount of time as well. (usually)

If sharpness is increased to match, the mob on bedrock will die in 2 hits, but take Y amount of time. (faster)
this decreases the currently intended difficulty level and would actually decrease parity unless the rest of combat was changed as well.
