I can understand how the previous villager trading system was overpowered, especially with infinite zombie cure discounts. However, reducing it to only one discount without compensating in other areas doesn’t feel like the right balance change.
I think limiting villagers to one permanent discount is completely fair, as long as other parts of trading are improved to make up for it. For example, cured villagers could have larger trade stock, more trades before locking, or faster restocks. That would still reward players for building curing setups without bringing back the old overpowered 1-emerald trades.
Right now it feels like the strongest part of villager trading was removed, but the tedious parts stayed the same. Villagers still lock trades quickly, trading halls still take a lot of effort to build, and getting specific trades can still be very repetitive. The current system feels less rewarding rather than more balanced.
