Seconding this. I'm curious why they would remove it in the first place. It worked perfectly fine as of last night.

I Played yesterday with my friend from england, I am in the states and that was on 5/25, today 5/26 we tried to join the single player world to continue and it was gone and we cant get back on together. I highly support bringing it back. Yesterdays version 5/25 was great and was only a little bit laggy.

OMFG. BRING IT BACK NOWWWW. Me and my friend were extremely excited about the new Peer to Peer. We created a world and have a total playtime of around 10-15 hours on it. We logged onto minecraft today to play and THERE IS NO JOIN FEATURE. WHEN WILL IT BE BACK? I dont want to wait weeks either for them to fix the bugginess of P2P. We tried going back to old snapshots where it used to work but I still couldn't join him. At least bring back the buggy version soon. No reason to stop making it work entirely even if it was a little laggy. Having a buggy version is better than none at all.

So over them removing stuff the community loves, bring it back.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Bedrock Edition has peer to peer - or at least something very similar - so surely it make sense for Java Edition to have it as well?

A lot of people like the features unique to Java Edition and they would enjoy sharing their world/s with friends but it's very discouraging when the only way to do that is by hosting a server (which is very demanding for time - I know from experience - and many people don't have the knowledge or resources to do it) or by installing sketchy mods which could be a risk.

I think it would be in the best interests of the Minecraft community to bring back peer to peer for Java Edition. If it's a security risk, take your time to fix it, but please bring peer to peer back because without it, so many people miss out on the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity to (pardon the pun) their peer group.

My friends and I were having so much fun, and more of our friends were starting to come back and play too. Why did they remove it? T T

havent played minecraft in years cause im old and busy now but recently started playing a hardcore world with my friend specifically because of this feature in the update, sadly i think them removing this feature will be the end of minecraft for me :/ its really easy to just not mess up stuff the community loves. i personally experienced no lag or issues whatsoever in the 10 ish hours i got to play good luck to you all and i sincerely hope microsoft/mojang pull their heads out of the dirt.

to the previous comment, why would this be the end of minecraft for you? you know they're not permanently removing this feature? i'm not saying i support them removing it, but i am pointing out that this is not them removing it because they don't want the feature added, they do intend to bring it back.

i do agree though in that when i tried this, i didn't run into any issues either. i personally cannot see the reason they had to fully remove it, rather than leaving it in and just bugfixing from there.

Hard agree, I like the recent drops but this change alone would be far superior to any of them.

I feel like their phrasing of being not what they wanted the experience to be is very weird, as I only ever saw positive feedback towards the addition which makes me question who decided and why they decided to do this, not helped by them being really ambiguous about the actual cause of the removal.

It's also not like they have a tendency to remove something due to minor flaws (I mean, look at the entirety of bedrock edition)

I have seen a few people say that it might be a permanent removal after the realization that Realms would lose money if java P2P was added, which I doubt, but it's not impossible seeing as Microsoft is in charge, and they have never explicitly said it will return, only vaguely implied that it will without giving a date.

I'm not going to pay for a server if I'm only playing with one friend. Unless there's P2P, I'm not playing Minecraft. It's pathetic that you'd release something that works well and then remove it...
