I would like to suggest adding Crows as an atmospheric bird mob, especially for eerie biomes like the Pale Garden. The biome already feels unsettling with its silence, pale trees, and the sounds of the Creaking. Adding crows would make it feel even more mysterious, as their cawing could break the silence and make players feel like they are being watched.
Crows could caw during early morning, nightfall, and midnight to naturally signal the time of day, but only in specific dark or eerie biomes such as the Pale Garden, Old Growth Taiga, and Dark Forest. They could also spawn near old or abandoned structures such as Jungle Temples, Witch Huts, Trail Ruins, Woodland Mansions, or Abandoned Villages, subtly letting players know they are close to something hidden as most would walk past. This would make these areas feel more unsettling, as if the crows are watching over places that have been left behind.
At night, crows could caw when players are near danger or something unusual, acting as a subtle warning. They could also suddenly flap or fly past the player when turning corners, creating a small natural jumpscare that fits their clever and mischievous nature.
A Bird Post block could give bird mobs a place to perch and call home besides the player’s shoulder. Birds could bring back small found items like seeds, sticks, feathers, or nuggets, with the Bird Post acting as a small dispenser sized storage space that gives birds more purpose.
Hope this gets seen!
Sincerely,
A crow lover
