TL;DR Java Edition's Statistics need some work, and could have more use to Datapack Developers.
Part 1: The UX.
As it stands, the statistics menu is just a massive list thats hard to read through and doesn't even have a way to search for specific stats, I would like to offer a few Ideas on ways to make the menu a bit more coherent.
1A: a search bar.
Does this really need an explanation? The list is so long and specific stats are hard to find.
1B: List Sorting.
Adding in options to sort the stats page in specific orders like, E.G. "Alphabetical" or "Highest Number" could make searching for specific stats easier for some people.
1C: Sub-Pages.
Multiple statistics are pretty much identical to eachover, E.G. "Chests Opened" & "Barrels Opened". Having a single line for "Storage Devices Opened" and then having a Drop Down Menu for it's derivatives would remove clutter & make the menu a bit more organized.
Part 2: Data-Driven Stats.
Many datapacks store custom per-player variables as scoreboard values. this is perfectly fine, but letting players see specific values is usually difficult & requires making a system to view them. Intergrating scoreboard values into statistics would seemlessly allow players to view those values without any fuss, or would allow devs to hide vanilla stats.
E.G. Imagine a mini-game map. instead of making the player run some random function command to see how many games they've won, they can instead go to the stats menu and view their mini-game specific stats there.
