The "Deferred Technical Preview" looks amazing, but it is too heavy or locked for millions of mid-range smartphones (3-4GB RAM, mid-tier GPUs). Instead of disabling it for these devices, Mojang should introduce an optimized version: "RenderDragon Eco-Deferred" (or "Deferred Lite").
To maintain 30-60 FPS on standard mobile hardware, this mode would use smart graphical shortcuts instead of heavy real-time calculations:
Static Shadows: Use simplified ambient occlusion or static shadows under blocks and entities instead of dynamic shadows that track the sun. This gives instant depth at a minimal performance cost.
Simulated Reflections: Use an animated, vibrant shader layer with improved transparency for water instead of true screen-space reflections. The water looks premium without overloading the GPU.
Zone-Based Lighting: Block lighting (torches, glowstone) would tint the immediate area using a low-res light map, creating cozy caves and bases without advanced ray-tracing.
Minecraft is a game for everyone. An "Eco-Deferred" mode would bridge the gap between high-end hardware and everyday mobile players, letting millions experience a vibrant, modern world while preserving battery and stability. Thank you for listening to the mobile community!
