An Unexpected Idea: Smart AI/LLM NPC Companions in Minecraft

Hello Minecraft Development Team,

My name is Nuriddin. I want to share a passionate proposal that could fundamentally elevate the future of Minecraft.

To be honest, I am not a hardcore player and don't fully know how to play in Survival mode. However, I recently experimented with adding a basic bot into the game using Node.js. During this, I realized that if advanced AI models (like Anthropic’s Claude) were connected to these bots via paid API keys, the potential would be on a whole different level. Theoretically, these AI companions could build structures, analyze environments, and even adopt virtual pets.

Right now, this is hidden behind complex setups. Only people who write code can see it. Everyday gamers and children are completely left out because there is no native in-game user interface.

My proposal is to introduce an official, one-click AI integration inside Minecraft, allowing players to have a thinking NPC companion—much like the character from the movie "Free Guy."

Most importantly, this is a massive financial opportunity for Mojang. You could integrate this as a premium feature within Minecraft Realms, or monetize it through the Marketplace via "AI Companion Tokens." Players would gladly pay to have a truly smart companion.
