Optional PvP Improvement: Reduce Excessive Vertical Knockback (Anti “Juggle” Combat)
Description:
I would like to suggest a PvP improvement for Minecraft Bedrock Edition that focuses on improving combat consistency and fairness without changing the fast-paced nature of Bedrock combat.
Currently in Bedrock PvP, repeated hits can cause players to be launched too high into the air (“vertical juggle”). This often leads to situations where the fight becomes less skill-based and more about continuously knocking the opponent upward until they cannot properly recover or counterattack.
This mechanic can sometimes feel frustrating in PvP because:
- Players lose control of ground-based movement during fights
- Combos can turn into uncontrollable vertical knock-ups
- The fight becomes less strategic and more spam-dependent in certain situations
Suggested Improvement:
Add an optional mechanic or toggle that:
- Reduces excessive vertical knockback from repeated consecutive hits
- Keeps horizontal knockback and normal combat speed unchanged
- Prevents infinite or overly high “juggling” in PvP situations
- Maintains the fast and simple Bedrock combat style
Why this would improve the game:
- Makes PvP more stable and skill-based
- Keeps fights grounded and more readable
- Reduces frustrating “infinite air combo” situations
- Still preserves Bedrock’s fast combat identity
- Could be implemented as an optional setting or PvP rule (for servers/worlds)
